This course is grounded in the principles of Polyvagal theory, with a particular focus on the role of the Nervous System in relation to a Yoga class. We will cover the stress response and students will gain an increased awareness of Trauma, how it might present in a class setting, and how to be sensitive to this. The curriculum will draw from modern somatic practices and traditional yogic philosophy, as well as the latest insights from functional movement to support students in achieving balance, strength, and flexibility both mentally and physically. A core value is fostering self-awareness and emotional intelligence in teaching and practice.
